To All Members of the Pacifica National Board:

Whereas Pacifica Foundation's management has increasingly interfered with
programming decisions, engaged in acts of censorship, and made
retailiatory personal moves, disenfranchising listeners and local advisory
boards in order to impose its often regressive deicisions regarding the
network;

Whereas WBAI listeners want to hear the real news that WBAI-Pacifica
provides;

Whereas the unexplained attempted removal ov Valerie Van Isler, General
Manager of WBAI violates the spirit and the established procedures of
community radio;

We demand that all hiring and firing procedures be conduced in the spirit
of full disclosure home-based management and noninterference of local
prerogatives. and furthermore, that hiring and firing be conducted by a
clear process of recommendations from representatives of the staff and of
the Advisory Board so that the management of the station is primarily
locally based.

We resolve that a new manager cannot be installed without input from WBAI
staff and listeners.

We demand public reassurances from Ms. Bessie Wash that our demands are
being addressed.

We demand that Pacifica Foundation cease attacks on Amy Goodman and
Democracy Now!

We demand that Pacifica Foundation return to its founding ideals of free
spirit and progressive community radio.
