From the Ashes
This piece is a response to the catastrophe of September 11 and that all follows. I think of it as a kind of a prayer and an expression of my love for this city which has been my home or 30 years.
I am commited to perform this piece for one year, a customary period for mourning, and to allow it to develop and change during that time.
The score was created together with Randy Wright, Nuria Divi, and David Dunn. Text is inspired by Peggy O'Mara, editor of Mothering Magazine. Many thanks to Dixon Place for providing this open forum and to The Field for support in developing it.
I will post pictures and video soon.
