Authentic Movement nurtures the creative impulse by facilitating the experience and expression of authenticity in an environment free from judgement, expectation and interpretation. Artistic expression becomes the metamorphosis of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual awareness into form. This workshop is open to dancers and choreographers seeking to access and nurture the creativity of their inner being.Date

Zoe Avstreih, Director of the Center for the Study of Authentic Movement, is a pioneer in the development of the form of Authentic Movement. She teaches and lectures nationally and internationally and has published widely. She is a recipient of the Harkness Choreographers Space Grant and was nominated for the Fetzer Institute Senior Scholar Award. Lucia Ruedenberg-Wright has been studying Authentic Movement with Zoe Avstreih while completing a Master's Degree in Dance Education at NYU. She originally came to New York in 1971 to perform with Robert Wilson. In 1984 she first presented her own work at the International Conference for Children of Holocaust Survivors at CUNY. In 1994 she completed a doctorate in Performance Studies at NYU. |
